Sheepwalks Equine Clinic
Located in Pattingham our Equine Clinic has a wide range of equipment and facilities that make a huge difference in the level of local service we can provide. We have x-ray (particularly for looking at bony structures), ultrasound, (vital to assess the extent of tendon damage), endoscopy (for examing the airways) and ECG (to assess heart rhythm). Located at our Wolverhampton Hospital we have an automated blood analyser which can perform a wide range of tests without having to wait for a sample to be posted to an outside laboratory. Having made a diagnosis we have hospitalisation and operating facilities to enable us to carry out a broad spectrum of treatments and importantly, our nursing assistant, to make sure that all in-patients are cared for as they would be at home.
When your horse needs it most a diagnosis can be reached and the appropriate treatment can be instigated without delay.
Older Horse Plan
Looking after horses as they get older can become more difficult. Dental care becomes more important, certain illnessess are more likely and changes in diet may be needed. In order to help with the worries that this may bring, St George's Equine Services are pleased to offer a special package for the older horse. This includes:
- Full clinical examination
- Full dental and treatment as necessary
- Blood test ( to check for kidney and liver problems, anaemia and other 'hidden' conditions )
- Discussion of any health concerns
- Worm Egg Count (faeces sample required)
You will receive a health check list on completion of the full clinical examination and a copy of the results following the blood test. The package is offered at a much reduced introductory rate and if you book on a free zone day you can save on the call out fee too.
If sedatives are required, additional charges will apply.
