We help to support a great cause
Since 2007, we’ve had a strong relationship with Birmingham Dogs Home, providing expert and caring vet services to both its Digbeth and Sunnyside centres.
One of the St George’s vets visits both the Catherine-de-Barnes and Sunnyside (Coven, near Wolverhampton) Birmingham Dogs Home sites several times a week.
Every dog that enters the home has a full health check-up with our vet before re-homing. If necessary, any problems are addressed at St George’s Hospital in Wolverhampton or treated in the kennels.
Once re-homed, the dogs have 21 days of free veterinary cover for illnesses such as Kennel Cough, when they’ll be seen at one of the kennels and treated by our vet. They also receive 4 weeks of free insurance for any accidents that may occur.
The new owners are given a welcome pack, which includes several St George’s Vets vouchers, entitling them to discounts for essential requirements such as neutering, flea and worm treatment, food and vaccinations.
Once a year, in August, we take part in and sponsor the Sunnyside Summer Open Day. This is a great day out, where past residents of Birmingham Dogs Home often come for a visit, take part in the fun dog shows and meet their former canine carers.
