My first association with St.George’s was as a final year vet student. I was so impressed with the level of clinical skills of the staff and patient and client care that I knew that this was the practice for me. 17 years later, I am pleased to say I am still here!
I graduated from Liverpool University in 1999 and started as a mixed practice vet. I enjoyed the mix of my initial few years, with the challenges of midnight calvings, equine colic cases, (James Herriot was my childhood inspiration), but soon realised that small animal work was where I wanted to focus.
In 2003, I gained the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Radiology and have continued to take a special interest in diagnostic imaging - particularly ultrasound.
I spend my time at our Wolverhampton Hospital where I enjoy many aspects of small animal work, both medical and surgical cases, however over the years I have found one of my greatest joys is being involved with clients and their pets and helping them through the ups and downs of their lifetime journeys.
I was delighted to return to work full-time in May 2016 to take on the role of joint Clinical Director for St.George’s Veterinary Group. My role includes being Clinical Coach for our new graduate vets. I still remember and appreciate all the help and support I had from the St.George’s team when I first graduated and enjoy sharing knowledge and experiences. I am still actively involved in Imaging and I am looking forward to moving forward with our plans for an updated ultrasound machine and the installation of our CT scanner.
In my spare time, I love to take part in sporting events, particularly triathlon and open water swimming, and enjoy camping adventures with my family.
