It is with extreme sadness that one of our most valued and well-respected vets, Wojciech Witos has died on Friday the 3 rd January 2020. He passed away very unexpectedly in his sleep, leaving behind his wife, two daughters, and two dogs.
Having religiously worked the out of hour shifts for St George’s from the 16 th February 2009, he became known as the cheery night vet that always puts his patients first. Despite some long and busy night shift, he always greeted you with a smile in the morning, brightening your day and getting you off to a good start. There was always time in his busy schedule to help a colleague, showing that he was a true gentleman. It was a pleasure working with him, and he always supported his less experienced colleagues through the tough nights. His amazing spirit was contagious and being such a kind, caring and generous person makes him one of a kind.
Recently he had started his certificate in surgery to improve his skills so that he could offer his patient an even higher quality of care. He will be greatly missed and leave a big hole in the St George’s team. The veterinary world has lost one of its best out of hours vets. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time.
